Dr. Anna Schossler, an eye doctor in Warsaw, Poland who specializes in vision correction. Her expertise is using laser surgery to rid people of their dependence on eye glasses.

To help illustrate that point, ad agency Sek crafted a custom typeface made from the reconstructed remains of broken and twisted eyeglass frames. The typeface was then used for posters advertising Dr. Schossler’s clinic.

French Yarn-Maker Offers Savings to Customers Who Knit Their Own Coupons

Bergère de France - Knit Your Own Coupon

Bergère de France has been producing high-quality yarn in Bar-le-Duc, France since 1946. Over the years, their product range has grown to include patterns for crochet and knitting; needles and knitting accessories; and supplies for embroidery and cross-stitching.

Recently, the yarn-maker’s ad agency BEING came up with a creative and inspired campaign to help increase business at the Bergère de France boutiques. Customers could use their leftover yarn, and using one of four patterns, hand-knit a coupon to earn savings of 5%, 10%, 15% or 20% off of their next purchase. The more complex the pattern was, the more savings the customer could earn for their handiwork.

A great example of creating an campaign experience that connects directly to the customer’s use of the product. You can check out the knitted coupons in a photo gallery on BEING’s Facebook page.

Mercedes-Benz Curates Photo Exhibit From User’s #Untamed Instagram Pics

Mercedez-Benz #Untamed Instagram ExhibitDo you have a few truly unusual photos in your Instagram collection? If so, then now’s your chance to add them to #Untamed, a unique digital photo installation inspired by the new Mercedes-Benz CLA.

To participate, go to untamed-installation.com, connect to your Instagram profile and select the three most unusual photos from your stream. Each of your photos will be evaluated (it’s not clear exactly how), and given an #Untamed Score. The score is based on how original your style is, and how different it is from others that have been submitted.

As you can see in the screen grab above, my picture of a wooden cat that doubles as a birdhouse scored a healthy 89, yet a giant zombie hand scored a paltry 36.

The installation was created by Hamburg agency Jung von Matt/Alster, and will be on display in Paris in April 2013, hopefully with a few of my Instagram photos included.
